Maine Coon people — talk to me. What should I know?

I've wanted a Maine Coon for years. Like YEARS. I've done so much research but I still feel like there's stuff I don't know. For those of you who have them or breed them: - How big do they actually get? I see these giant ones on Instagram but is that normal? - Are they really as dog-like as people say? - What's a reasonable price from a good breeder? I don't want to pay scammer prices but I also don't want to lowball a real breeder. - Health stuff I should ask about? - How long are waitlists usually? We're not ready to buy yet (saving up) but I want to be prepared when the time comes. Any advice appreciated!
