Indoor vs. indoor/outdoor — what do you do and why?

Josh SJosh SAdmin·7d ago
This is a loaded topic, I know. And obviously it's personal for us — Sam and Bean were indoor/outdoor and they got stolen. I'm not here to judge anyone's choice. But I am curious what people do and what their reasoning is. After what happened to us, if we get another cat, they're staying inside. Period. But I know there are legitimate perspectives on both sides, especially depending on where you live. What do you do? Has your approach changed over time?

100% indoor only next time. I don't care how much they cry at the door. A catio maybe, but they're not going outside unsupervised ever again. I used to think it was cruel to keep them inside. Now I think it's cruel to risk losing them.
