AvyAdmin·1mo ago I'll go first since Josh already told our story above. The person who scammed us was on Facebook. They had a page with kitten photos (probably stolen from a real breeder). They said they had two Bengal kittens from a retired queen and just wanted a "rehoming fee."
We sent $350 through Zelle. They said the kittens would be ready in a week. A week later, the page was deleted. Phone number disconnected. Money gone.
Looking back, the red flags were there — no video calls, no home visit, Zelle only, and the price was way too low for Bengals. But when you're desperate and hurting, you don't think straight.
Check the scam database before you send anyone money. Seriously.
