What questions should you ask a breeder before putting down a deposit?

After getting scammed, I've become obsessed with knowing what to ask BEFORE sending anyone money. I've been compiling a list: 1. Can we do a video call so I can see the kittens/parents? 2. Can you send me your TICA/CFA registration info? 3. What health tests have been done on the parents? 4. Do you have a contract? Can I see it before committing? 5. What's your policy if the kitten has a health issue? 6. Can I visit before putting a deposit down? 7. Do you have references from previous buyers? 8. Why did you choose this breed? Breeders — does this list seem fair? What else should buyers be asking? And what questions do YOU appreciate getting from potential families?
