Sunkittens was started after we realized how joyless the experience of getting a new pet was. There were too many untested kittens, scams, and way too much outdated and confusing information out there. We wanted to ensure pet parents, like us, were able to get clear and concise transparency into breeding practices, and that all questions are answered for an entire life time. We go above and beyond for testing and ensuring that our breeders are adequate - full genetic testing, yearly HCM screening, PKD testing, personality evaluations, joint / x-ray evaluations, and no defects at all. We retire our cats early to ensure they can still live their lives as pets (that's not to say they aren't spoiled here as well), and only produce a few litters a year from perfect conditions only.
